Youssef Saouli sent these pictures after a trip to Beirut and guess what, the school is now really over and done : the show must go on and what was in the past remains in the past, no doubt about this…
Thank you Joey Salazar for reminding me that the “dodge ball” game was called “Ambassdor”. I loved it. I was there from summer of 1965 to Summer of 1967 and attended SBS for those 2 years. Happiest days of my life. Wow…………….. There was this one tall Pakistanian guy who was really good at the game and always got me with the ball!!!. I wish I remembered his name…………….. Shame that when you are young you don’t know to keep in touch. I went to 7 and 8th Grade there until the summer of 1967 when the War broke out and we “European” had to leave. I left behind my clothes, rock collection, guitar, etc.
I am so fortunate to have attended the Salesian School from 1969-1975. The quality of teaching coupled with the diverse backgrounds gave me such a special attribute to succeed in my career.
More so, the influence of Father Leahy and my years as an alter boy at the Immaculate Conception helped me to search for the Maronite Church here in the US and join the board for so many good years. God rest your soul Father Leahy and May the Lord reward Father James Dell for all his wonderful contribution in Italy. I would like to connect with my Grade 5 friends from 1972 especially if they reside in the US.
I READ THE INTERVIEW AN IT BROUGHT BACK SOME GREAT MEMORIES!

Dear Sir/Madame,
I was a student at the Salesian Boys School of Beirut in mid 60s. I’m planning a trip to Beirut soon and I would like to pay a visit to my school. However, I am not sure if I’ll be able to find it as my time there is limited. Therefore, I would be glad if you could forward me the address so that I can return there about 40 years later.
Thanks in advance and best regards.

I thought the year I attended was 1975 but I found my photo in the 1972 yearbook on this site.
I was in the 4th grade.
I’m so saddened that Salesian’s is no more. It’s tragic that a school that meant so much to so many is gone. I’m glad I have my memories.
